William Becker
Senior Instructor
Dynamic Combat™ Method
William Becker
started studying Judo in Detroit, Michigan in 1967. In 1969, after
a fight with a boxer, Becker decided he needed to
study a striking art and took up Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karate. One
year later, he joined the army and did a tour in Vietnam during
the war where he received extensive weapons training.
After returning home he resumed
the study of Shorin-ryu, where he eventually was accepted as a
student of Grandmaster Izo Shimabuko.
He continued to study until 1975 when he became fascinated with
the Chinese art of Tai Chi Chuan. After studying Tai Chi under
renowned
Master Philip Ho, Becker began to search for more street effective
training.
His search led him half way
across the United States to study the Chinese art of Wing Chun
where he met Richard Ryan. Becker
studied
the art alongside him until Ryan broke away from the system
to create the art of Dynamic Combat™. William Becker
became one of the first students of what was to become Dynamic
Combat Method™.
He has worked as a professional bodyguard and as a women's
self-defense instructor and has trained extensively in both
armed and unarmed
combat with over three decades of experience. Today Becker
has achieved a Level III Combat Expert (Third Degree Black
Belt) in DCM and is
a Senior Instructor at the Dynamic Combat™ Academy
in Phoenix, Arizona.
